T-Mobile, a major telecommunications carrier is currently offering clients a choice of several 24 month subscription plans that will grant them the new Samsung B3410 for free. One of the best value plans that they are offering consists of a 15 Pound tariff with 300 minutes of talk time to any network and unlimited texts anytime to any network. This deal is available on Carphone Warehouse's official listing. There are also other plans through T-Mobile's various Combi deals. Though in terms of a value-per-Pound setting, the 2 year Combi-15 is best suited for overall value.
The phone is available as a pay-as-you-go offer. This device is more of a budget phone and people who are looking for budget phones are more likely to go for pay as you go deals. Carphone Warehouse currently has exclusivity for this mobile phone.
Speaking of deals, this phone is a great steal (figuratively speaking), offering you not only the convenience of a touch screen but also the practicality of a physical keyboard. The entire phone is light and small, making it easy to carry around. The Samsung TouchWiz interface makes you see that the company knows who to make a great phone inside and out by delivering an interface that is intuitive and easy to use (and now Samsung is releasing the Bada OS, no surprise there).
B3410 Specs
The Samsung B3410 has a nice 2.6 inch touch screen display. It has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and can display up to 256 thousand colors. It's a small screen, but it does a great job when playing videos or viewing images. When it comes to typing messages, the lines deliver a nice, compact readable font.
This little 2G phone may not have the connectivity options of a 3G device, but it supports the full GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 bands, and of course GPRS & EDGE. The 2 mega pixel camera is good for taking quick images to share and upload. The 13 FPS QVGA video recording capability is also nice for a phone of this caliber.
Back to the keyboard, the slide out layout is easy to use and comfortable in the hands, allowing users to easily type messages quickly without much making many typographical errors. The button layout is suitable even for people with large fingers. This is a really big improvement over Samsung's Genio QWERTY.
This mobile phone is sized at a reasonable 102.3 x 52.4 x 15.9 mm, slightly stubbier than the average GSM phone, but considering that this has a full keyboard and a touch screen, it is not a big deal. The weight is very reasonable 113.7 grams with the battery so it will hardly weigh you down if you slip it into a pocket.
Improvement Over the B3310
The hardware of this device is obviously an improvement over the previous B3310. But the big bonus is that the B3410 no longer has a vertically aligned keypad that was present in the old model. The keys are now all in the slide out keyboard and the device is now more ergonomically sound. Now that is what you can call an improvement.
